First Time Massage in BGC

Complete beginner's guide to your first BGC massage — which spa to choose, what treatment to get, what to expect, and everything else you need to know.

Best for First-Timers

Quick Recommendation for First-Timers

Book a 60-minute Swedish at Breeze Oriental Spa (Orē Central) or Dr.Massage BGC (Sapphire Residences). Specify “medium pressure” and “full body.” This is the ideal first BGC massage.

Step by Step

Your First BGC Massage: From Booking to Aftercare

01

Choose Your Spa

For your first BGC massage: Breeze Oriental Spa (Orē Central, 9th Ave) or Dr.Massage BGC (Sapphire Residences, 2nd Ave) are both excellent entry points. Both have clear booking processes and receptionist staff accustomed to first-timers.

02

Book in Advance

Call or message ahead — especially for evening and weekend slots. Most BGC centers are bookable via phone or Messenger. Specify: (1) your preferred date/time, (2) 'first timer' so staff can guide you, (3) any health conditions (injuries, pregnancy, etc.).

03

What to Wear

For Swedish/deep tissue: you'll change into spa attire provided (disposable underwear or shorts). For Thai massage: wear loose, comfortable clothing or they'll provide spa wear. Remove jewelry before arriving.

04

On Arrival

Arrive 5–10 minutes early for your first visit. You'll complete a brief health intake form. Let reception know it's your first time — they'll explain the process, show you to the changing area, and introduce your therapist.

05

During Your Session

Communicate! Tell your therapist: (1) preferred pressure (light/medium/firm), (2) areas to focus on, (3) areas to avoid. You can ask to adjust pressure at any point. Your comfort matters — good BGC therapists expect communication.

06

After Your Session

Drink water — this is important. Deep tissue especially releases metabolic waste that needs flushing. Rest if you can. You may feel sleepy or deeply relaxed for the rest of the day. Some soreness 24–48 hours later is normal after first-time deep tissue.

What Treatment to Get as a First-Timer

Swedish massage, 60 minutes, medium pressure. This is the universal first-timer recommendation at every BGC center. It's relaxing, therapeutic, and gives you a baseline for what massage should feel like. After one session, you'll know if you want deeper work, more stretching, or more sensory experience — and you can adjust from there.

Avoid for your first session: deep tissue (too intense without baseline), hot stone (specialized preference), Korean scrub (very different experience). All are great — just not optimal as introductions.
