Market! Market! Area
BGC's spa scene is the most premium in Metro Manila outside of Makati's five-star hotels. What makes it different from other areas is the consistency — there are virtually no unlicensed or low-quality establishments in BGC proper. The corporate and expat demographic simply doesn't tolerate poor experiences, and reviews spread fast in these tight-knit communities.
The range, however, is enormous. At the bottom, ₱800 foot spa centers near Market! Market! offer basic services. At the top, CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La at The Fort offers hour-long treatments with pre- and post-treatment lounge access for ₱4,500+.
For most visitors and residents, the sweet spot is the High Street boutique spa tier — ₱1,200–₱2,500, certified therapists, clean private rooms, and treatments that are genuinely therapeutic rather than just relaxing.
BGC has a significant Korean expat community centered around Uptown Bonifacio and McKinley Hill nearby. This has created genuine demand for authentic Korean spa treatments — and Chungdam Spa BGC delivers. The traditional Korean body scrub (seshin) removes dead skin more effectively than any other treatment. It's not glamorous, but the results are remarkable.
If you've never had a Korean scrub, expect: 30–45 minutes of vigorous exfoliation with an Italian towel (Italy towel), followed by a shower and often a massage or moisturizing treatment. The process looks aggressive but is safe and incredibly effective. Price: ₱1,800–₱3,000 for the full scrub + massage package.
Simple rule: if you want a specific therapeutic massage, go to a massage center. If you want a multi-treatment experience or a day of relaxation, go to a spa. BGC's dedicated massage centers (Dr.Massage, Prestige Wellness) are better for focused therapeutic work. BGC's spas (Breeze Oriental, ZENVALLI, hotel spas) are better for the full experience.
